Summer Staff
Camp Shaver searches for quality staff throughout the country. All staff are thoroughly interviewed, have a criminal background check performed, undergo a weeklong intensive training, and are First Aid/CPR certified. If you are interested in being a staff member, please contact the Camp Office at (505)829-3572 in Jemez or (505)899-8417 in ABQ. Must be at least
17 yrs old.
LIT Program
A three week leadership program for young men and women who are 15 yrs old. As an LIT, you will attend a leadership class each day, assist in instructing activities, and help counselors in cabins. The last three days of the session are spent on a backpacking trip to build teamswork and friendship.
CIT Program
A volunteer program for future leaders. CITs are 16 year olds who stay at camp for up to 5 weeks assisting counselors in classes and in the cabin. They also help implement the evening program. The CIT Program is a great opportunity at Camp Shaver for campers who want more (those interested must submit a volunteer application). The CIT program is the best way to be considered for a Staff position when you reach the age of 17.
